Blown loose insulation is the most common application for attic insulation

The depth of the insulation and the type of insulation will determine what R-value (mostly R50) or RSI your home has when the project is complete. R-value is, essentially, a number assessing a home's ability to resist the flow of heat. So if your home has a high R-value, that means it does a good job keeping your home or attic's heat inside.
